Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is considered a condition caused by an imbalance of the Vata and Kapha doshas. Vata is responsible for movement and circulation in the body, while Kapha governs the lubrication and nourishment of the joints. When these doshas become imbalanced, it can lead to inflammation, pain, and stiffness in the joints.
If your ESR is high and you get morning stiffness in the joints. Alarming! Did you notice dairy products make those joint pains worst? and by 2 in the afternoon naturally the stiffness - pain reduces. it can be the beginning of Aamvata. Ama is a maldigested product, which is not homogeneous for the body. Whenever that Ama gets localized in the body tissue or joints, it can lead to production of pain, stiffness, swelling, tenderness, in the related joints. The features of Aamavata are much identical to RA, an autoimmune disorder which causes chronic inflammatory and symmetrical polyarthritis.
In Ayurveda, Nidana Parivarjana (avoidance of causative factors) is considered as the first and essential line of management for any disease.
